Reputation Points and the Black Mirror

Hi all, let's explore the new Cyrator Feature: RP (Reputation Points)

This reminds me of the Blackmirror Episode "nosedive" and my new status :P !

RP (Reputation Points)
"Reputation Points (RP) measure your trustworthiness within the community, ranging from 100 (highest) to 0 (lowest). "

It's a great way to evaluate Curators and Analysts, helping prevent scams and rewarding high-quality content. Posting or upvoting harmful or low-quality content will reduce your RP.

How is RP measured?

  • Reporting Content (The Negative Side):
    • Harmful content
    • Low-quality content – but how do we define and measure that?

Should RP be deducted if content gets no upvotes?

  • Should we start reporting 'low-quality' content, or just avoid upvoting or liking it?

  • What about Sybil attacks or groups upvoting their own content? These questions raises concerns. We aim to keep a good balance between what lowers the quality versus what is viral and good for the platform. Because overall, we want both Viral, newcomers and high content!

Personal Perspective
In my opinion, I consistently create original, high-quality content, but it often doesn’t receive many upvotes lately. Does that mean it’s considered low-quality by the community? Should I start making trendier, less thoughtful content to fit in? It’s a tough decision.

Maintaining RP
"Maintaining a high RP is essential for continued earnings. If RP drops too low, earnings are temporarily suspended until it’s restored. "

But what’s the threshold for “too low”? This should be more objective so we can balance "going with the crowd" versus following our personal content standards.

And lastly the Restoring RP
"RP is restored gradually, twice a month, provided the user hasn't lost a significant amount of points during that period."

Personal Note
Exciting news: my Web3 rookie wife (finally!) got interested in Cyrator. I'll be curing her content before and after it’s released! Show Less
