This is my review of the 9Inch Dex, which was launched in 2023.
9 Inch is a dex on Pulsechain and Ethereum. The project is essentially a replica of Pancake Swap and Pulsex with some additional features. What truly drew me to this project is their bold marketing approach, characterized by tongue-in-cheek double entendres mostly related to a very large penis.
Team
The team is led by the humorous Hexy Bastard, akin to Marmite—you either love him or hate him (personally, I'm a fan). He reminds me of my younger self, and it's evident that he has a genuine passion for crypto, wanting others to succeed in this space. While some may find him a bit excessive, if you appreciate his humor, you'll find that he makes a lot of sense and is knowledgeable. The main developers are Queno and K9, who, unlike Hexy Bastard, prefer to remain anonymous. However, they are quite active in the 9 Inch Telegram groups and readily address any inquiries.
Graphics and Website
Coming from a background in Graphic Design, I felt compelled to offer my insights on the 9 Inch website graphics. I found the graphics to be clear and concise, perfectly suited for the DEX. The DEX itself is impressive; it's easy to navigate, well-organized, and compared to Pulsex, I find using 9 Inch to be a much smoother and streamlined experience. It feels like a more refined DEX, offering additional features such as:
Limit Orders Dollar-Cost Averaging (DCA) Ability to create your own meme coin (launchpad) Marketing
Hexy Bastard certainly knows how to market a project, having previously launched his own memecoin, PP (Poor Pleb), which raised a significant amount. It's evident why the founders of 9 Inch chose him as their frontman.
With Hexy Bastard's help, 9 Inch managed to raise a staggering $16 million before launch. I was among those who invested, believing in Hexy Bastard's vision for the DEX. Hexy marketed the project through social media and by participating in livestreams within the crypto community, including with Crypto Coffee, Corey Costa, and Randy Hilarski—prominent figures within the Pulsechain community. I believe the name "9 Inch" alone grabs people's attention, making it a clever marketing move.
The Launch of 9 Inch
The launch encountered some setbacks, with reported issues of the DEX not displaying correct APRs in the pools. Additionally, the DEX was targeted by a DoS attack, which the founders managed to mitigate, albeit impacting website functionality. Many investors were disheartened by the rocky launch. Despite these challenges, the project has managed to overcome them, and the DEX now operates smoothly. There are still occasional reports of incorrect APRs, but the developers are actively addressing these issues.
The Future of 9 Inch
I have no doubt that this project will continue to thrive. The team has demonstrated their ability to improve and enhance the DEX, introducing impressive features. Compared to Pulsex, I believe 9 Inch stands out significantly. We're currently amidst a meme coin craze, and 9 Inch has adapted its website features to capitalize on this trend. During a recent livestream, Hexy Bastard expressed the desire for 9 Inch to be the go-to platform on Pulsechain, aiming for users to never have to leave. It's evident that they are committed to this vision, and they're doing an outstanding job thus far.
