To be a layer 1 you have to stand out and offer something that the rest don't otherwise you do not have a chance in my opinion.
Alterna's Gitbook is one the poorest I have seen and does not offer specific information explaining of how they will achieve 'bringing full experimentation and scale to public' for example but instead just provides a definition for what a mainnet is. They repeatedly do this throughout all their complex utilities section and it offers no value what so ever, unless you want to revise your crypto terminology.
On their Twitter I also see constant shilling re-tweets from influencers such as Richie The Bull.
I think I have seen enough.. This is most definitely not for me. Show Less
