Taiamã wrote a great quick overview of ANALOS so I'm going to do the same for BONK. My story, however, is rather pesronal, like many others.
I was early in BONK. Really early. It came almost like free magic internet money, a complete joke, during the bear summer, especially if you were active on Solana sports betting and NFT sites. Pure degen activity. It had a tiny run-up at the beginning of the year but was down -90% from that. Everyone was a billionaire. Solana was under $20. We were trying to entertain ourselves while waiting for a bull run that we had no idea was just a couple months away.
Long story short, I gambled away my BONK, and thought nothing of it until recently, where doing the math in my head on how much I'd have if I held leads to stomach-churning loss of appetite. To rub salt in the wound, yesterday, on Christmas morning, I learned that I am ineligible for a BONK airdrop. Why? Because I’m a Paperhanded Bonk, according to BONK’s claim page.
Again, I'm a narrative guy, so that's my narrative. Sure, there are short-term memes that launch with hype during bull runs and die off quickly. Then there are those that dare to build and have fun when the money isn't flowing. Doge, Shiba Inu, and now BONK all share that story.
