Socios.com powered by its native token $CHILIZ became the first blockchain project to release digital assets specifically for sports fans.
The project has done amazingly well with its partnerships over the last few years expanding from just football, to now a magnitude of sports such as baseball, basket, nascar, formula one, MMA, tennis and many more. They have also attracted some of the top teams/players within these sports.
So what does it $CHZ do?
It gives fans the ability to participate more directly with their favourite teams by giving them voting power of certain decisions.
Eg. Juventus FC allowed token holders to select the celebration song that would be played over loudspeakers when the team scored a goal. For 8 years, Juventus celebrated goals with a song called Chelsea Dagger. Juventus fan token holders chose Blur’s Song 2 as a replacement and the team made the change.
My biggest worry about this project is that the primary utility of $CHZ is tied to fan engagement within their ecosystem. I do consider this to be a relatively narrow use case + ultimately the decisions fans are mostly allowed to vote on are not big influential club decisions. Eg. who to buy or sell. Show Less
