The next Litecoin halving is just around the corner.

In August 2023, around block height 2,100,000, the next Litecoin halving is scheduled to occur. As many are aware, halving serves as a mechanism to control the inflation rate of a coin over time by reducing the amount in circulation and increasing the scarcity of it, thus often leading to an increase in its value and price.

The first Litecoin halving took place on 25 August 2015, when the block reward decreased from 50 LTC to 25 LTC. The second halving was in August 2019, reducing the reward down to 12.5. After the upcoming halving, it will be down to 6.25 and the process will continue until the year 2142.

Halving events can cause significant interest and speculation amongst the crypto community. This will potentially influence the price of Litecoin in the lead-up to and after the event. DYOR, but it might not be a bad idea to DCA a bit into Litecoin between now and August to take advantage of some potential gains. Show Less
