🚨 Hidden gem alert! 🚨
Rowan Energy is tokenizing solar energy and carbon offsets, using proprietary smart miners which are installed on-site and their own application to pay rewards for participation. The gist of this project is a Blockchain use case that I’ve been excited about ever since PowerLedger ($POWR). Rowan has real world customers and are installing physical equipment that is able to go beyond the veil of ESG in a hybrid-RWA fashion.
In practice, when offsetting energy consumption you don’t know what is actually behind the energy generation. With Rowan Energy’s technology, they’re able to collect accurate and transparent primary data about the equipment responsible for producing the carbon offset, and have the capability to do it at scale. The company has been onboarding 80kW per day.
According to the founder, the quality of the data is unmatched. It seems that the team is growing at a steady rate and that the leadership has a good handle on what is required to overcome the challenges that come with something new or groundbreaking. They’ve been working directly with retail to learn and understand the needs and pain points of their customers; to be attentive to the learning needs of their engineers and distributors reselling their equipment.
The global need for this use case of Blockchain and the enabling for governments to support and incentivize ESG is massive.
