SappChat is one of the quite interesting apps that i came across while researching Chinese Super App — WeChat (AKA Weixin).

WeChat started as a simple messaging app and incorporated 50+ services including P2P payments turning China into a cashless economy, and SappChat knowingly or unknowingly replicated the concept of messaging allowing users transfer crypto while chatting.

Sappchat supports over 50+ blockchains and 200+ cryptocurrencies like BTC, ETH, BNB, DOGE, etc.

Story/First impression:

The timing and the simplicity of their solution is quite compelling, i feel like story could have been improved, and yet even a newbies in the industry after reading once could understand the solution.

White/light papers are well written and yet missing emotional hook like most WEB 3 companies do.

Solution:

The solution is a perfect product fit for less developed economies, Africa and ASEAN in particular, i have witnessed people that are reaping the benefits of DeFi and SappChat simply adds social element on top of everything which is quite engaging and entertaining.

Features:

NFT shops as indicated on the website is not functional on the website, staking is functional and yet token seems to be successfully falling down for quite some time ( i let tokenomics experts elaborate more) UX/UI needs tons of improvements, intuitive feel is missing and there are several technical glitches while integrating wallets.

Socials:

Social media is quite technical, it`s all about product updates, features, and updates, telegram group is primarily for problem solving, there is no a single soul behind the team that could inspire and show the value that I see and make splash in the DeFi industry.

Sadly, this is one of the red flags how come one could entirely focus on Product developments and forget the emotional hook, history repeats itself, a moment when team is convinced that they have the best product and yet fails to understand and approach their target audience. Show Less
