Be aware - Scallop.io is not to be confused with Scallopx.com, a London-based crypto and fiat banking service. Given the slight overlap in their business ideas, you'd think the newer Scallop would've re-thought their name, but c'est la vie.
Some positives of the project include:
- The team (at least the ones you can find information about) seem to have a solid development background
- They have some prestigious backers such as MystenLabs, Sui Foundation and Comma3 Ventures
- The testnet seems fairly straightforward to use
Some not so positive things include:
- Their idea isn't very unique
- The whitepaper talks about pools on Solana but the link goes to the Sui testnet
- There a lot of places in the whitepaper where the language and grammar could be clearer
- They are very dependant on Sui, which is still a nascent blockchain
- There is no mention of a native token, which is unusual
- While the testnet looks easy to use, there is still very limited functionality with no tools listed and outside links to bridges and swap services
I personally think this project has a lot of work to do still before they officially launch. They might benefit from an incubator or some advisers. Show Less
