Unus Labs (holding company of VV) describe themselves as “a team of scientists, business leaders, creatives, and developers in the lab everyday since 2017.” I can find no evidence of anyone on the team having a science background.
The core team are:
Harrison Gwinnett (Founder and CEO) – Harrison left school without qualifications and spent some time working for law and finance companies before founding WatchLotto, a lottery style competition site which offered luxury watches as prizes. Harrison prides himself on exiting the company at £11 million. The final valuation seems to have been achieved in great part to the Covid lockdowns when more people were indoors and thus participating in online games. Perhaps it was a fluke it did so well? Harrison has no Web3 background or real experience to date.
Archie Baker (Creative Director). Archie is a 25 year old filmmaker whose previous work was as a freelance videographer. He’s worked with some major brands, but also has no dirext Web3 background or experience.
Thomas Gwinnett (Web3 Lead & Director). Thomas seems to have only 18 months of Web3 experience, presumably working for VV. Prior to that, he was doing digital marketing for WatchLotto and prior to that working as an assistant in the fire protection services.
The team are all very young and inexperienced in my opinion and I am not convinced they can pull off even a fraction of what their project is setting out to accomplish. I have seen these types of really big ideas with multiple, complex components so many times in the crypto space, especially from overly ambitious teams that try to overextend themselves, get in over their heads and quickly run out of funds.
