Balancer is decentralized automated market maker protocol on Ethereum, Arbitrum, and Polygon blockchains. It has two different swaps: single and batch swaps (multiple swap using single swaps). The core system in Balancer is Vault. It is a smart contract that holds and manages all tokens in each Balancer pools. It hepls to provide better liquidity and lower fees. Additionally, Balancer was pioneers in custom weights pools instread of usual 50/50.

Balancer has many different pools:

  1. Weighted pools (custom weights)
  2. Composable stable pools (swap at known exchange rate, parity)
  3. Linear pools (assets and their wrapped replication)
  4. Boosted pools (combination of linear pools)
  5. Managed pools (up to 50 tokens in one pool)
  6. Liquidity bootstrapping pools (firstly, set higher price for token, then it will be lowering to equilibrium)
