Overall, this is a decent idea. It's attempting to merge the best attributes of Ethereum smart contracts with the benefits of BTC.

Here's my problem with this solution...

This is a band-aid that is trying to improve 2 crappy solutions with a less crappy solution. I also have serious doubts as to if using the BTC chain will be feasible.

ARRR was backing up transactions on the Bitcoin blockchain, but they found that the high transaction costs and slow speeds on the BTC blockchain made it unusable. So they switched to the Litecoin blockchain and found that it's a much better solution. I think that Botanix might run into a similar problem.

In spite of it's popularity, the EVM is not a great solution for smart contracts, based on what I've read. There are significant weaknesses that might be fixed over time, but again, it probably isn't the best solution. The only benefit is probably that a lot of developers know how to code for the EVM.

All of this sounds like a good idea in theory, but I don't think that it will pan out in reality. Show Less
