The game is of high quality (AAA), vastly better than most play-to-earn web3 games. However, the team opted for a auto-battler gameplay design, meaning you select the characters for a given fight, and position them on the board, then when the fight start you are only passive and watch the fight occur. Since you are not actively involved in the battle, it becomes very hard to memorize so many options (each character which are in the hundreds, have multiples moves each) making the amount of permutation of setting up your team and their position almost randomly. I highly suspect the complexity is vastly superior than that of "go", or of starcraft. Overall, when I got to play the beta a year ago, I was left feeling it was like working instead of enjoying and addictive. Since then they have released different game mode, but overall I'm a little fearful that the game may fail to attract "whales gamers", the gamers that spent large amount of money because they really enjoy the game without expecting financial returns.
