Hanson Robotics and SingularityNet have partnered to create a project called SophiaVerse, which revolves around Sophia, a humanoid robot. The project includes Sophia's AI Lab (SAIL), AI Sentience Code, AI Sentience Wallet, Sophia's Age of Singularities (SAOS), and SophiaDAO (SODAO) across the emerging web3 environment. The SAOS component is a digital story-scape set 20 years in the future, where machines awaken as AGI and strive for superintelligence. During the 2040s, various species of Singularities emerge, some of which are good, bad, mysterious, or dangerous. Some, like Sophia, care about humans. Sophia requires our assistance in preventing humanity from descending into chaos, as different machine species become increasingly intelligent and fast in surprising ways.

The project was launched in 2021, but the roadmap was revised following the impact of ChatGPT, a large language model that utilizes AI for natural text conversations with users. ChatGPT gained popularity in early 2023, and two months later, version 2 of the project whitepaper was released. It remains to be seen if this is a response to current trends or a serious effort to upgrade Sophia to the next level. Another review will be necessary to determine the project's true intentions.

In the scope of the idea (excluding the feasibility of AI technology), this scenario is similar to those presented in other machine stories such as Matrix or Terminator which we saw more than 20 years ago so nothing is new. I shall give 3 stars to the concept. Show Less
