Truebit is a very technical project a lot of which in the backend is very complex for someone like myself who is not a developer of any sorts to understand on a deep level.
It is far more advanced than your typical layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum. From my research I have identified that there are five main technology stacks for the protocol it revolves around:
- Ethereum blockchain: it was built on top of this to provide a security and decentralize the platform for executing smart contracts.
- Interactive Verification Game (IVG): Truebit uses an IVG to incentivize off-chain workers to perform the required computations accurately.
- Merkle Trees: which are used to efficiently verify the correctness of the computations performed by the off-chain workers.
- WebAssembly (Wasm): used to enable the off-chain workers to perform computations in a secure and efficient manner.
- Truebit VM: Truebit has its own virtual machine (VM) that is optimized for running the Wasm code. The Truebit VM is designed to be lightweight and efficient, which enables it to run on low-power devices.
It is also worth noting that Truebit as a very unique and technical minting and burn mechanism which being honest when I am reading it goes far over my head so I would be fearful to try and break it down for you guys and look like a fool, but its definitely an interesting part to research yourself for the more technically minded people!
Overall the technology used behind the Truebit protocol seems to be well designed, efficient and extremely well thought out by its designers therefore making the token very promising for its utility if the team can execute the technology side to this project. Show Less
