Algorand has an impressive team with the founder, Dr Silvo Micali that comes with almost 40 years of experience in Computer Science, being a professor at MIT and also being the co-inventor of ZK-Proofs. He founded Algorand in 2017 and currently oversees all research and finance.
Dr Silvo Micali is highly reputable, being the recipient of of the Turing Award, a highly coveted prize for contributions of lasting and technical importance to Computer Science. With Dr Silvo Micali at the helm, the project has an extremely strong foundation.
Most recently, Sean Ford who served as Interim CEO became a Senior Strategic Advisor, and was previously the COO from 2018 - 2022, and assisted the ascent for Algorand to become a top 50 project.
I was initially confused with how Steve Kokinos is listed as CEO of Algorand through July 2022, but Sean Ford was also the Interim CEO during that time. It might be a phrasing issue, as Steve Kokinos was CEO from 2018 - 2022 based on LinkedIn.
Algorand may not have a CEO at the moment, but with Paul Riegle as the Chief Product Officer and Matthew Commons as the recently appointed Chief Finance Officer (both with over 20 years of experience) along with Dr Silvo at the leadership team, it looks extremely experienced and entrepreneurial.
The rest of the team also looks to have very strong technical expertise and on LinkedIn, they have over 150 employees (both interns and fulltimers) across engineering, product, marketing and finance. Show Less
