Edit - I'm adjusting my review from 2 stars to 3 because they've heavily improved their website since I've written my last review and they've also released a couple of AMAs (although the AMA is conducted by 1 interviewer from their own team.. so I wouldn't really call that an AMA). I was considering 4 stars, but reading my old review I feel like most of those points still hold, except for the bad quality website, so I'm staying with 3 stars for now.
What I really like about their new website is how pleasant it is to read. It's not filled with jargon and stuff generally sounds exciting and makes sense. I really like their "completed, in progress and upcoming" jobs section. If they'd have a chart for that info, I'd probably give them an additional star. However, I'm not going to 4 stars yet because it's still quite hard to understand what they actually do. It's much easier to watch some YouTube videos to understand Neuromorphic computing than to read anything on Dynex.
A key aspect lacking in their review is sufficient trust building. The team is anonymous, which is a very hard nut to overcome and they also don't show any partners on top of that. There's only about 5 videos on their YouTube channel and supposed "AMAs" are not held with the community or 3rd parties, but among themselves. So there's very, very little accountability. My main problem is that I'm sure they are not the inventors of neuromorphic computing. It's a big field that Intel and lots of others have their hands in as well. So who are these people that are bringing this supposedly breakthrough technology to the world? Can these neuromorphic computers really be built from various computers connected via the internet (At intel it looks like they're building neuromorphic computers into a single chip). I'm not gonna lie, I've bought a small bag of Dynex and am intrigued, excited and also a little scared.. But my gut feeling is telling me to not go all in on this one.
