Lots of room for improvement...

I give Gains community 3 stars.

There is certainly room for improvement in the Gains community. While the project has experienced explosive growth, the community has not kept up and is not as impressive as possible. One of the most crucial aspects of a good community is using social platforms to listen and respond, but in the case of Gains, Telegram, Discord, and Twitter feel like a one-way street.

When entering the Telegram channel, there was no CAPTCHA or bot to keep out other bots, which is concerning and demonstrates a lack of concern for the community. As a test, I posted, "I'm having trouble connecting my wallet," Within 30 seconds, I was called and messaged by two scammers using bots in the channel.

There are over 300 pinned messages in the channel, which is far too many, and it's difficult to determine which messages are important. Projects should clear older pinned messages to help users navigate the channel more easily. While I got a response from an admin about having a bot, they only had an analytics bot, which showed that one admin was the top 17% poster, and the admins were over 30%.

The Gains community has experienced growth recently, particularly around the 17th of February when they got a Binance listing. However, apart from the last 30 days, Telegram has been relatively flat, and most of the social growth has occurred on Twitter, where they saw a 33% jump in the last 30 days.

Speaking of Twitter, I was very disappointed in the lack of people, partners, influencers, and competitors they follow. To only follow 42 people underscores my point about a one-way road.

Channel (Size) My Channel-Specific Comments:

  • Telegram (<6K): There was no bot upon entry, which is concerning and shows a lack of concern for the community. Over 300 older pinned messages make it difficult to find important information. Recently, it seems like they have lost steam. It took less than 30 seconds for a scammer to try to help me. Admins are very responsive, but they are dominating the posts.

  • Twitter (>40K): The follow count is very low, only 42, which shows they do not reciprocate with influencers or other parties. The pin contest post got over 120K views, but otherwise, posts only get 10K to 25K. The activity level is very high, and the variety of posts is excellent. They should post a linktr.ee, which should be a staple for projects, but they have not done so.

  • Discord (>8K): The channel is well-organized, but it's the same story as TG.

My weighting system for community scoring heavily prioritizes the primary three channels: Telegram, Twitter, and Discord. YouTube is also considered but to a lesser extent. In my comments, I may give additional weight to another channel if something exceptional stands out.

My Score Breakout: [Telegram]: 2 [Twitter]: 4 [Discord]: 3 Show Less
