The practical application of blockchain technology in genomics as demonstrated by Genomes, is commendable. It introduces the concept of 'De-Sci', which I find intriguing. There is a clear demand for such services, as evidenced by my own family members who have used centralized companies to trace their ancestry & assess health risks.
When it comes to Genomes' website I'm unsure whether the limited presence of web3 features is advantageous or not. From a crypto enthusiast's perspective I would like to see them own their part in the blockchain space a bit more. However I understand that from a business perspective it could make potential users who have a stigma with crypto hesitant to engage with them.
Overall this project is very interesting, offers a real world use case that can be enhanced through blockchain tech. But I don't believe a token is necessary for this particular project and I'm currently not the biggest fan of DAOs, one reason being the regulatory uncertainty with them. Show Less
