Another review mentions a number of upgrades and features to Star Atlas over the past year, but what wasn't mentioned was the recent (as in 2 days ago on 2 June 2023) update of the Showroom Release 2.1 (R2.1)

The stand-out feature of the R2.1 release in is the Volant Station Racing Track, which introduces a racer career path and in-game competitions.

Other notable features include:

• Ground Racing Single Player with Shooting: Players can participate in ground racing events and engage in shooting while racing.

• 49 Different Flight-Ready Ships: There are 49 ships available in the game that can be flown and equipped with weapons.

• UE5 In-Game Marketplace Integration for Ship Acquisition: The Galactic Marketplace is seamlessly integrated into the game, allowing players to purchase ships within the Unreal Engine 5 module.

• Test Flight Protocol: A campaign that allows players to test different ships for a limited time before acquiring them.

• Jetpacking - Base Tier: Players can use jetpacks to explore the Volant Station and improve aerial mobility.

• Photographer Career Mode - Tier 0: Players can compete as photographers in capturing stunning angles of Volant Station's elements. Winning competitions allows players to mint their photography into NFTs and sell them on the Galactic Marketplace.

• Performance Improvements and Optimization: The graphics and scenery have been optimized, and bugs from previous versions have been fixed.

• Dogfight Updated (Level Update): The dogfight arena has undergone enhancements, including the integration of the Gameplay Ability System (GAS) for unique abilities and attributes. The arena has also been expanded and the wave system reengineered for increased difficulty.

• Experimental Mode Toggle: Exclusive game modes that provide sneak peeks into the future of Star Atlas and engage with features related to the game's lore and evolution.

These features aim to enhance the racing experience, ship acquisition, aerial mobility, photography career, combat simulation, and provide a glimpse of the game's future developments. It also shows that despite losing a lot of value after the FTX collapse and in the recent and current bear market, the team never stopped building or investing in what could be one of the biggest games in Web3 (DYOR).
