The review, four months ago, was 3 stars because of the various aspects analyzed.
Now I'm looking at the perceivable traction.
In October only 638 people checking their website. While November and December was a little better.
In LinkedIn the official page got muted in 2024, Instagram is off since October..  meaning they lost steam?

DiboPay provides an innovative infrastructure that drives the use of cryptocurrencies for local payment in physical and virtual stores, allowing immediate, transparent and inexpensive transactions in daily operations, generating benefits for freelancers, migrants, farmers, businesses and workers in general, both rural and urban, to receive and transfer money through the app locally or from anywhere in the world.

Competition from exchanges like changeNOW are already big, they offer the same service + more a lot more
When Paypal or Visa will enter this space it will change the game.

But lets look at Dibo instead of their competition.
There is little to nothing on how they achieve your convertion to Fiat without the need of a Exchange.

Are they using a DEX?
Or will they just use a exchange instead of you and you dont have to do a manual conversion?
Doing the convertion in their own account? (doesn't that make them the exchange and where do they get the liquidity?)

Or will they just use a exchange instead of you and you dont have to do a manual conversion and wait for 3 days to receive your crypto?

I didnt find which blockchains will be connected, but because they all work very different a automated exchange function to Fiat for all of them (without a exchange) is going to be a fun challenge.

Personally i am not convinced and would need a bit more info about their backend before I would decide to use them as a vendor

There are 2 big issues with this project:
They could easily be pushed out by bigger competitors.
They are converting crypto into fiat automatically.

The first point is obvious, if a bigger company like PayPal or X comes in, they have a very slim chance of success.

The value of using crypto is the option of converting it into fiat. This app seems to do the conversion automatically, which begs the question, why not just use fiat?

I think it could be a useful service for some, thus 2 stars. But in the bigger picture, this doesn't look like it will succeed.

DiboPay will enable south americans to make payments in crypto easily. I would normally be fine to say it's a good business with a chance of success, however X.com, Worldcoin, Paypal, Visa, are all going in this same direction, so DiboPay has a very limited amount of time to capture market shares before the tsunami of these large companies with hundreds of millions take everything.

I would suggest to find a synergy with the big player instead of trying to compete head to head. Normally, I'd say software patents are worthless, but in this case it could make sense when negotiating deals with these giants.

There are two significant concerns associated with this project:

Vulnerability to Larger Competitors:
It's quite evident that they could face stiff competition from larger players in the field. If a heavyweight like PayPal or Company X decides to enter the market, their chances of success appear rather slim.

Automatic Conversion from Crypto to Fiat:
The fundamental value proposition of cryptocurrencies lies in their ability to be converted into fiat currency when needed. This app, however, appears to carry out this conversion automatically. This raises a fundamental question: Why not just stick to using fiat currency?

While it's possible that this service may have some utility for certain users, I am inclined to give it a two-star rating. However, when viewed within the broader context, it doesn't seem likely to thrive.
