This project feels like it's in the idea stage and launching a token seems premature, which raises a red flag for me. I'd keep my hands off this. In summary, all their marketing messages say that they'll give rewards to TOR relay operators, and nothing goes deeper than that. Because the team is also anonymous, I find it very hard to trust what they're saying. Even a video with a YouTube influencer is "announced" and will be published soon. Everything general is described at length, everything specific is "about to launch", "in development" or "about to be announced".

I've seen other alternative networks that are much better developed, but couldn't find the project (i'll post it here once I find it). Other interesting projects are various decentarlized VPNs including the Deeper Network is one example that I gave a 5 start first impression review, Masq is another and then there's Mysterium.

What's bad:

  • Very generic messages across their website and docs. Everything "will be announced soon" or "is in development" (see images attached). No specific technology is clearly explained. No designs of their routers revealed even though prototypes were apparently show at ETH Denver. If you can't earn tokens yet for running a TOR node, then why do you already put the token out there? Heavy red flag for me, given that there's very little tangible information.
  • Anonymous team
  • Whitepaper is hard to find (sub section of the docs) and is very inaccessible to read
  • roadmap is extremely high level without any dates.
  • All their YouTube videos are very vague, talking mostly about the TOR network or privacy in general.

What's good:

  • They registered a company in Norway, which is the thing that gives them the most credibility (which is sad in itself)
  • Reasonably easy to tell what it is: A token to incentivize TOR network contributors,
  • website looks good
  • they don't push their token sale. Show Less
