Lots of play-to-earn games are being built by teams with no real game development experience. The videogame market is a very long tail market, meaning that few games generate all the revenue and get all the users, while the remaining 95% of games get nearly nothing at all. Except for very few examples, only AAA games succeed attract large user base. The Illuvium team is composed of real game developers that have worked on solid AAA game projects in the past. They understand the importance of not releasing their game early, as well as not making the gameplay pay-to-win. Overall, those are all necessary aspect to ensure a web3 game can have any success on the market. The game need to attract high spenders (gamers that will spend more money than they earn simply because they enjoy the entertainment value). The moment the game brings only gamers that want to earn more than they spend, the game will ultimately be a failure. I have watched many video of the executive team and was impressed by the expertise of game design and of blockchain/web3 economies. With that said they may have made a mistake with the auto-battler gameplay design. Time will tell if the gameplay is addictive enough to attract players that come for the entertainment value itself, or only for the wealth generation aspect. Show Less
