Okay, this idea is pretty cool: converting yourself into an actual 3D model usable in a variety of metaverse experiences, from e-commerce to healthcare to gaming.
This isn't done by a simple photo upload. They are building special chambers around the world that have 200 cameras and all sorts of measurement equipment inside to achieve a high-quality scan of anything that enters the room. To me, it sounds a bit overkill, though.
Your model will be usable in any of the connected dApps/experiences. For example, when you go shopping online, you can try on clothes and see how they look on your body, or even have them tailor-made based on your scan. They even think you can use your scan to go to the doctor (your scan doesn't update automatically, of course, so it's only for pre-scan problems).
As for e-sports, it could be a very cool way of integrating the real person behind the controls. I'm not sure if your physical appearance influences your capabilities in-game, but that could create unfair advantages.
Another way you can use your 3D model is by renting it out to companies that want to use it in their projects. All cool concepts, and I'm curious to see where this leads. Show Less
