Possibly, what Worldcoin is attempting to do is one of the greatest attempts of levelling the playing field globally through the concept of universal basic income (UBI), and they even attested to that in their website. The herculean task of connecting real-world identities to system accounts to prevent multiple account claimings. This in itself, along with a strong product, warrants the project 4 stars.
However, in the age of data privacy and sensitivity, it is especially dangerous especially in the case of unique human 'footprints'. Unlike online account data that can be fabricated and changed once compromised, the same cannot be said for retina prints, and once it's compromised, the identity verification is invalid, and attempts at identity theft become more apparent. It is hence inherently risky for any private company, although altruistic, to have on hand such private data. Although worldcoin said that iris scans would be kept as numerical code and the source is deleted, data could still be intercepted or stolen.
Perhaps I'm playing devil's advocate here for something globally beneficial, but until regulations become clearer, I would prefer to err on the side of caution. Show Less
