zkSync is one of the notable projects in the Layer 2 ecosystem, mainly due to the rumors of its substantial funding. However, zkSync has faced its own challenges following some hacks, preventing it from fully taking off. In the past month, the project has made several noteworthy moves that I believe people should pay attention to:
- On September 7th, the Binance exchange introduced the capability to deposit and withdraw ETH through the zkSync Era network.
- On September 21st, zkSync introduced the zk Fellowship program. ZK Fellowship is an online program lasting 4-6 months, designed to advance the vision of zkSync, ZK Stack, and ZK Credo through technical contributions from individuals and teams external to Matter Labs.
- On September 26th, zkSync collaborated with Pudgy Penguins to launch Pudgy World, a game for purchasers of Pudgy Penguins' toys at Walmart.
- On October 3rd, the zkSync Era-sponsored Audit competition with a $1.1M prize officially began.
Recently, zkSync has received support from Binance by enabling ETH deposits and withdrawals via the zkSync Era network, significantly facilitating the flow of funds into zkSync. However, the zkSync ecosystem still faces several issues, especially in terms of user adoption and attracting users.
It's worth noting that zkSync has a significant amount of funds, but a large portion of these funds come from users participating in Airdrops rather than genuine users.
