One of the biggest upsets for the Sui community came very recently when the community found out the blockchain will have no future airdrop. A statement from co-founder and Chief Product Officer Adeniyi Abiodun put all these rumours of airdrops to bed once and for all.

I admit I was one of the members who was disappointed about this news as I downloaded the Sui Wallet months ago and played around with it on their testnet for a couple of hours and completed various tasks that would likely get me qualified for an airdrop if there was going to be one, sadly it was not meant to be..

However with a Twitter following of over 500k and a Discord of over 700k I would be surprised with the team they have at their disposal if they cannot convert some of these numbers from their followers into actual users of their blockchain. Especially when the project has a crazy amount of funds they could divert into marketing or other ploys to get users on board.

However the community is very sour at the current moment, tensions are still high and I do not see much productive talk about the Sui blockchain being had in the Twittersphere, it is mostly moans and wines about no airdrop happening. Like I said I understand these disappointed people and selfishly voice this frustration as well but it is what it is and there will be plenty more airdrops to be hunted out there I am sure. Meanwhile the community needs shift back its attention onto the actual Sui blockchain itself and start assessing what utility it can provide to the space. Show Less
